Autumn: Raking up all the dead and dry leaves

Hi Beauties. 

Today I want to share some DIY takes on life. Yes its time to change that cluttered dry and dead way of thinking and rake out the dead leaves in your mind for something new and fresh.

It is the middle of the year and everyone is thinking where did this year fly to? What did I accomplish? Why haven't I moved one single bit towards the goals I set? What do I have to show for the 6 months that have passed me by in 2017? Well you not the only one...

I recently gave my blog a new fresh and clean look because I felt stuck in the past, drowning in endless piles of dry and dead leaves. Yes its cold out here in Johannesburg South Africa but the weather isn't the only cold part. My outlook on life has become cold too...

Here are my 5 DIY takes on life!



1) Choose to be happy!

I know you thinking easier said then done however even your emotions are choices too! We as human beings spend too much time being negative and self-wallowing. What happened to seeing the world through eyes of love? Okay maybe I'm sounding too cliche but it wont hurt to just out a smile on your face and choose to be happy. In reality life takes it toll on everyone but your problems aren't bigger than what my problems are to me. We all face challenges and thankfully we don't live life like robots going through the same processes everyday, so why not get up breathe in all the negativity you find yourself building up and hold it... hold it... now LET IT GO! Breathe out and release everything you felt was holding you back from being happy. Love life and it will love you too. Your attitude determines your altitude.

2) Identify the dead aspects in your life.

Have you ever tried to lift a dead person? I hope not, but you can image how they would weigh you down and hold you back. Well guess what every single day you walk around with dead thoughts, memories, experiences and emotions that weigh you down mentally. Its time to sit down and evaluate the dead parts of your life and throw out those bodies! Take a nice long hot bath or shower and think about the mental things that are bothering you and holding you back. Let the water rinse you clean of all the dead weight in your mind and step out with a fresh light and positive intake on who you are and who you want to be! Being free mentally gives you space to accomplish who you really want to be!

3) Do the daily raking. 👍

Confused? It's simple yes we can decide to be the happiest people that walk the earth and life can be the most amazing ever until... A taxi cuts in front of you in traffic, someone knocks you over while walking or you simply walk straight into the glass door, and Poof! Gone with all good takes on life. This is the hardest part! Its time to look at the taxi, the person and the glass door and say: Not Today! Some challenges are just not worth the fight or the effort or the energy. You should just step back, breathe, and take a step forward in the right direction. You don't always need to rush forward no matter the cause. Its good to step back evaluate your situation and have a clear vision and bigger picture of the challenge in front of you and 9 out of 10 times you'll see its just not worth it. Do the daily raking for overcoming those small hiccups along the way.

4) Love yourself enough to put yourself first.

We tend to be very giving and sometimes giving too much of oneself is no good. Yes we should always strive to help those around us but who is going to help those people if you no longer there.
We need to see that we are the most important people in our lives. Everyday we should put ourselves first! Everyday we should love ourselves more! Everyday we should feel good about ourselves no matter the case! If you don't love you first, others won't know how to love you either. You the shaper of your own destiny so show the world the real you! Give your self a proud smirk in the mirror and walk away know no matter what comes your way, YOU GOT THIS!!!

5) Know your happy place. 👸

We all need somewhere to just go and be alone, happy and at peace. Everyday create a happy place for you to be whether it is driving home listening to 94.7 and singing your heart out to your favorite songs, reading an intense romantic novel that draws you in or watching your favorite TV series with chocolate and some popcorn! You deserve it. We schedule everything into our lives, work, family, responsibility, children, pets, dishes, cleaning, washing, cooking but do we schedule ourselves into that diary of life too? I highly doubt it. Everyday make time for yourself to do what makes you happy. Schedule it in your mental diary and don't move it around no matter what! Go into your happy place because you deserve to be the happiest human being you could possibly be!


I hope these simple tips help you in turning you blue Mondays into happy sunshine filled Mondays and everyday after that.
