Dont Loose your Edge.
Fasting and Prayer is an important part in our everyday Christian Life.
We sometimes become weak because of our flesh and feeding yourself is not always the answer.
Sometimes we need to starve ourselves of the world and thirst for God.
I'm reminded of the story in 2 Kings 6:1. The servant was hopeless and because of his situation but through Elisha God showed that even though the situation looks hopeless God can still make your axe head float.
Here are 3 things that the servant done right.
1) He acknowledges that he was wrong.
He immediately saw that he was wrong and cried out to Elisha for help. How often do we admit our Wrong when things get tough?
2) He cried out.
There is nothing wrong with asking for help once in a while. Living in a world where pride caused 1 third of heaven to fall we should seek God daily to help us through life. We need to cry out, on the bus, the car, on the train, wherever we are cry out to God. Nothing makes a father more proud than His humble child crying out for help and acknowledging their wrong.
3) Have Faith
Faith without works is dead. You need to put the Energiser bunny back into your faith. When your situation looks impossible remember that God is the God of the impossible and only your faith in our Almighty can action this. Belief is as important as breathing. We trust our body to breathe in order for us not to suffocate. God created you with this function. How much more show we be trusting God for the challenges in our life.
The key to this is always be sharp. Never loose your edge. Trust, believe and walk in the ways of God daily and you will never loose your edge. Remember the enemy never sleeps on trying to destroy you.. So why take a break from spending time in the word sharpening your sword for his next attack.
